Samurai Pizza Cats had very little official media aside from the show itself. A few short comics were published in a Saban
magazine, and that was about it. However, Kyattou Ninden Teyandee, the original Japanese version of the show, had a range
of supplemental publications spanning various media, including comics, CDs, and video games.
Comic Bom Bom Adaptation
The first of these publications was a serialized manga tie-in by Yoshimi Hamada that was published in the monthly children's
manga magazine "Comic Bom Bom". It was likely in production around the same time as the show itself, and as is often
the case with such adaptations, the first installment of the manga was published shortly before the first episode of the anime
aired (KNT appeared in Comic Bom Bom at the end of 1989, the anime premiered in Feburary of 1990). The art style is very simplified
and cartoonish, even by the show's standards. Many of the chapters share basic plots with episode of the TV show, although
specific events and jokes often vary. A book compiling all the volumes was published after the series' completion.
"Sequel" Manga
In February of 1992, about a year after the show's finale, a manga by Tatsuya Souma that continued storywise from where the
show ended was published in "Taose Karaoke Banchou!" with some of his other manga. However, this manga was incomplete.
Due to page constraints, he was unable to fit in the story he had planned, and it ended just as the plot began rolling. Due
to large amounts of fan support, he was later able to continue the manga, with installments published in Cyber Comics magazine.
In this manga, Koon no Kami(Big Cheese) escapes from exile and returns with one last desperate plan to seize power. Nearly
the entire cast of the show is featured, and some characters gain unexpectedly important roles. It is held in high regard
by many fans due to its accuracy to the show both in artwork and atmosphere. The completed story was later compiled in another
book along with other manga by the artist.
